Usually the simplest answer is the best. You simply really do have a person in the city. or even the area that looks a lot like you. At least enough, that with a simple glance, your friends think it's you. If they were to see them closer, or in different cirstances, they'd know it wasn't you. People often see someone or something and they see what they WANT to, filling in the features as it were, so they may swear up and down they saw YOU. Maybe they were looking forward to seeing you so much, they imagined someone who looked like you to be you. Take it as a compliment. They want to see you and voila, there you are.
