Can I get a mortgage with a new job?

Will I have a problem getting a mortgage with a new job different field from my last I'll be going from a part time job at Shaw's to a full time job in human services I'll be there about a year when I'm interested in buying a house. Also I've been in college for two years and I'm thinking of changing my major to human services from information technology, would that help I know if you have a degree in the field that helps but what if its not finished yet.
