Forgive and forget?

i had a horrible ordeal with my best friend, and i decided to end the friendship. it's been months now, and i have truly forgiven her in my heart, but i don't think we could ever be friends again. if you truly forgive someone, would that mean that you have to continue being friends with them? I ended the friendship b/c she always dragged me into drama and she was very jealous and vindictive towards me. i'm not saying that i'm not over it or that i want her back as a friend.....what i'm asking is: if i say i have truly forgiven her, should i be able to be her friend? Bible verses on friendship are appreciated if anyone knows some that would relate.
