Isn't mutated bacteria proof that evolution exists?

I'm Catholic, and I do believe in evolution. Life wouldn't make sense without it. So I was wondering, is it observable proof of when bacteria and viruses develop resistance to drugs? I mean, how does that not prove to the creationists that evolution exists?
